Huawei's new Nexus isn't much of a secret. The alleged stock Android phablet has been leaking left and right. Now a new benchmark may confirm a few of the device's final specs.
The Huawei Nexus phablet is listed by its codename of "Angler" and is running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The handset will be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 810 processor and include 3 GB of RAM, which should provide a snappy user experience. While the phablet's internal storage isn't listed, previous reports have shown the device sporting 64 GB of storage, though it's also expected to be offered in a 32 GB variant as well.
Other rumored Huawei Nexus specs include either a 5.5-inch or 5.7-inch 2K display, fingerprint reader, and a reversible USB Type C port. We're still not sure which Nexus model we'll choose this year, with our hierarchy of values favoring battery life slightly above a smaller form factor.
GeekBench shows the phone powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor (which is unfortunately the trend this year) as well as 3GB of RAM, and running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Really, that's it. The actual benchmark — 1156/3641 — may not hold a candle to something like the Samsung Galaxy S6 (which is around 1500/5000), but keep in mind there are other factors involved and real-world speed may vary.
With Sept. 29 fast approaching, we expect Google to begin sending out invites for its Nexus smartphone and phablet event, and we'll keep you posted on any additional details as they become available.
