Huawei is expected to take the wraps off their next smartphone, the Huawei P9. In fact just the other day, the company teased an image for the upcoming handset in which it seemed to suggest that the phone will be coming with dual cameras. Now thanks to recent photos, it seems that Huawei's president was spotted using a device with a dual camera setup.

Huawei P9 Dual Camera Confirmed with Leica tech

The Huawei P9 launch event is all set to kick off on 6 April after official invites were sent out. Now it looks like the rumoured dual cameras are certain to appear too.

The Chinese company recently shared the first official teaser for its upcoming Huawei P9 smartphone, confirming the rumoured dual camera setup. The teaser was shared by Zhu Ping, Huawei's President of Consumer Business Unit in China, on Weibo. In his post Ping said, "P9, mobile phone photography once again break! So cool."

We are gradually closing in on the Huawei P9 April 6th launch date and today Gizok appears to have leaked the smartphone's hardware specifications rather early. Not only that, but the leak seemingly confirms the existence of the P9 Max and P9 Lite versions of the handset as well.

The Huawei P8 comes with an IPS-NEO LCD display of 5.2-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 424 ppi and it's protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. On the other hand, the Huawei P9 is expected to come with a similar IPS-NEO LCD display with the same size and resolution, but it will be protected by the newer Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

Huawei P9 release date has confirmed

Huawei has confirmed that it has distributed invitations to the media for an event it is organizing in London on April 6. The purpose of the event is yet to be communicated, but there are rumors that the company launch four variants of its P9 smartphone at the gathering. These four Huawei P9 models are: a regular P9, a large screen P9max, a pocket-sized P9lite and a feature-enhanced model which falls between the P9max and the regular P9.

Absent from this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, the Huawei P9 smartphone will instead be unveiled April 6, 2016, at a special event in London, UK.
