New Huawei P9 Images Confirm Fingerprint Sensor

Huawei P9 leaked again this week, offering our best look at the upcoming device. Specifically, you can see the partially-covered back of the phone, which seems to reveal several new hardware features.

Moving ahead to the Huawei P9, back in December there was talk that the phone would be unveiled in March. Back then, the P9 was rumored to sport a metal-clad body carrying a 5.2-inch display. The top-of-the-line Kirin 955 chipset will reportedly be under the hood. There could be 4GB of RAM inside, with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. A leak of the stickers that will purportedly be used on back of the device, show that it will have a dual camera system.

Huawei Mate 8 Gets Security Update

The Huawei Mate 8 was released not too long ago, and for a lot of people represented the Chinese manufacturer's own version of the Nexus 6P. It's a little larger with its 6.0-inch display, and the camera is a little different, but the fingerprint sensor and overall build make it clear the two devices share common DNA. One thing that Huawei has often been criticized for is their lack of attention where software updates are concerned, but the Mate 8's update to the February security update could be another sign that Huawei is trying to turn things around where their software is concerned.

The Huawei P9 is not expected to make an official appearance until after the hullabaloo of MWC, although the company does have a press event scheduled, but that hasn't stopped a new selection of leaks appearing online. The purported press images of the P9 show off a rear dual camera configuration, a fingerprint scanner located in the usual place, and quite possibly a metal body too.
