The Huawei P9 is set to be the next flagship from Huawei and while we're mostly working with rumours for now it sounds like it could be a very impressive device indeed, with a lot of power, a premium design, a dual-camera and a fingerprint scanner.
Huawei has already confirmed their press event in London, and judging by the amount of teasers, rumors, leaks and the general timeframe of the event, the company will almost certainly launch their P9 line of devices. The Huawei P9, P9 Lite and P9 Max are expected to see the light of day on April 6th, and we already have quite a few details when it comes to these phones, at least when it comes to the Huawei P9. The company has already opened the launch page on their official website which contains a countdown timer, and has confirmed that the Huawei P9 will be made out of metal, and that its body will contain chamfered edges. On top of this, they've also confirmed that a fingerprint scanner will be located on the back of this device, and that the phone will ship with two camera sensors on the back.
Today, we stumbled upon a new rumor which claims that the Huawei P9 will have a pressure sensitive panel, and will come powered by a Kirin 955 octa-core SoC. The company has launched the Huawei Mate S, which also features a pressure sensitive display, and if this rumors turns out to be true it won't be the first time for the phone maker to implement this technology on its devices. However, it looks like this time Huawei has added something more to its sensitive screen and it could come with the so called‘Knuckle Pressure-Sensitive Technology', which is similar to the ‘Knucke Touch' technology which is featured by the Huawei P8 series, but better. Moving on, the fact that a Kirin chipset will come under the P9's hood won't come as a surprise either because the processor is produced by HiSilicon, which is Huawei's subsidiary. If the smartphone will be underpinned by the Kirin 955 or the 950, it remains to be seen.
All in all, the members of the Huawei P9 series will see the light of day on the 6th of April, but if anymore information comes up until then we'll let you know.
