Unless a smartphone really flops, it's quite common to see a sequel. We assumed the ginormous Huawei Honor X2 get a follow-up, and it appears that the Huawei Honor X3 may have finally reared its head as it passed through TENAA certification.

If you want the scoop on incoming devices in the Far East, and they rarely disappoint with their listings when it comes to information. May be the honor X3 and Huawei P9 released on April 6th.

The big panel of glass on the Huawei Honor X3 measures 7-inches and has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200. Under the hood, you'll find a speedy Snapdragon 615 backed by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The TENAA listing also mentions a 13MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera. The OS is listed as Android 5.1, but one would assume it will get the Android 6.0 update or could arrive with it depending on when it rolls out.

Now, this tablet does not exactly sport high-end specs, but rumors have suggested that a higher Huawei Honor X3 variant might be launching as well. The higher-end model is expected to sport a QHD display, 4GB of RAM, and Huawei's Kirin 950 64-bit octa-core SoC will allegedly fuel that device. The battery will also be somewhat bigger than in the regular version, quite probably a 5,000mAh unit, though Huawei maybe even opts to include a larger battery on the inside. Anyhow, you can expect the regular model of this tablet to cost around 1,999 Yuan ($309), while we still don't know how much will the higher-end model cost, which is not all that surprising considering we're still not sure Huawei even plans to release it. That's more or less it, the Honor X3 will quite probably going to be announced in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
