Huawei P9 Confirm Dual Camera Setup

According to a report from China, Huawei will not be unveiling the Huawei P9 on March 9. Unnamed company officials have confirmed that the phone exists and is being worked on, but the project has apparently suffered some delays. These have to do with the need to improve some technical issues related to the much-leaked dual camera setup on the P9's back. Because of this, the release of the handset is reportedly delayed by a whole month.

Huawei did great in 2015, not only did they manage to sell 108 million smartphones, but they also became world’s third largest smartphone manufacturer. Huawei P8, Huawei Mate 8, Nexus 6P and Huawei Watch were amongst the company’s most successful products, and we’re all waiting for the company to release their first high-end device this year, the Huawei P9.

The P9 is the rumored 2016 flagship phone of Huawei and is apparently sporting a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1080p. It is speculated to be loaded with the octa-core Kirin 950 processor with a Mali-T880 GPU, 3 or 4 GB RAM, 32 or 64 GB internal storage, which is expandable via a microSD slot. It is also expected to house a 3,000 mAh battery, fingerprint sensor and a USB Type-C port.

The other rumored models are the Huawei P9 Lite, a more budget-friendly version; the P9 Max; and an unknown higher-configuration P9. The Huawei P9 Max is rumored to have a 6.2-inch screen that offers a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution, along with a 4GB memory, 64GB internal storage, micoSD slot, 20MP main camera that can take 2060p videos @30 fps, and a 5MP front-facing camera. It is also said to be loaded with the HiSilicon Kirin 950 chipset.

However, do take note that these are not the official specifications for the Huawei P9. With that in mind, it would be best to take the claims with a pinch of salt, and consider it as a mere rumor until proven otherwise.
