Huawei Mate 9 better than Google Pixel

Huawei’s phones have been well-regarded for their cameras for the last couple of years — especially since the Huawei P9 became one of the first smartphones to introduce dual-camera setups to the world in partnership with Leica. Huawei brought the same concept to its Huawei Honor 8 earlier this year (which launched in the US), and it’s continuing the trend with the Mate 9.

Huawei’s Mate handsets are premium phones built for those who like massive mobile screens, and the latest version is the highly desirable Huawei Mate 9. The Mate 9 boasts a lot of firsts; it’s the first phone to come packing Huawei’s new Kirin 960 processor, for instance, which is built for top-end performance. It’s also the first phone packing the fresh new EMUI 5.0 launcher, and Huawei’s second-generation dual-lens Leica camera.

Moreover, Huawei Mate 9 is reported to be the first phone of the company to come with its own Kirin 960 processor. The device will also have a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. On the other hand, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro Porsche-branded variant will have 6GB of RAM and 256GB storage.

The Mate 9 went official last week, sporting a 5.9-inch 1080p IPS display, the new built-in-house Kirin 960 octa-core chipset, a Mali-G71 MP8 GPU, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a 4,000 mAh battery, USB Type-C, and Bluetooth 4.2. The phone lands at 156.9mm x 78.9mm x 7.9mm in size, which is just slightly beefier than the Google Pixel.

In addition, Huawei Mate 9 will feature 400mAh battery supply, a USB Type-C charger, including Compass, G-Sensor, fingerprint sensor, Gyroscope sensor, Proximity sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, Hall Sensor, IR and Barometer. The regular variant will cost £630 to €699.
