Huawei P9 with its Leica-certified dual-camera setup was launched earlier this year in April. The company is now said to be working on the successor to P9, which is expected to launch in the coming months. Dubbed, Huawei P10, the smartphone had been recently spotted on benchmarking website , which gave an idea of what to expect from the smartphone. Now, an alleged prototype of the upcoming smartphone has been spotted online showing what the device could look like.

After hitting the market, Huawei's P9 has been enjoying a great run with its outstanding quality, with sales already exceeding the nine-million mark. Though there is no official confirmation from Huawei regarding the specs and features of this smartphone's possible successor, leaked rumors are spreading all over the Internet, particularly on Chinese social network Weibo.

The photos of the Huawei P10 prototype was posted on Weibo, and they show the front and back of the device, AndroidPure reports. The image of the front shows what looks to be a glass panel with the selfie camera lens at the top. The Home button is located below the display which is expected to double up as a fingerprint scanner. The second image shows the back, which houses the dual-camera, and the setup is similar to the P9. Two antenna bands can be seen running along the top and bottom of the smartphone, and the curved edges look very similar to Apple’s new iPhones. Being a prototype, the usual branding is replaced with words like Hanzo and Dreams.

Nobody knows about the Huawei P10 release date yet, but it's presumed that according to the one-year cycle typical of today's smartphone releases, it will make its debut at the beginning of April. Its starting price should be at around USD 750 - certainly a bit more than that of the Huawei Mate 9.
